Hardwood Flooring Repair

Despite its beauty, hardwood flooring can sometimes become damaged and in need of some TLC. Fortunately, Wheeler's Flooring America has all the knowledge and training needed when it comes to making your wood floors look brand new.

Scratching, splintering and buckling are all common problems that can occur to wood flooring over time. Scratches often need to be sanded with appropriate sandpaper, filled with wood paste and allowed to dry for at least a day. After which, the scratched areas will need to be sanded again and then treated with a finish that matches the floor's color. This can be a very time consuming process.

Splintering on the other hand, can sometimes be repaired but often requires the damaged floor be replaced. The splintered piece of flooring needs to be lifted, the splinter needs to be glued on to the wooden plank, the plank needs to be re-glued to the floor and then refinished completely. For this reason, it is sometimes best to just replace the plank entirely.

Lastly, buckling of a hardwood flooring happens because moisture causes the floor boards to expand. This requires extensive repairs and replacement of floor boards. This is something that should absolutely be left to a professional company since it requires a great deal of knowledge and experience.

Dealing with damaged hardwood flooring can be frustrating, however, repairing it is worthwhile so that you can enjoy its beauty for decades to come.
